Bryan W. Blades received his J.D. magna cum laude from the University of Notre Dame School of Law, and his LL.M., Masters of Law, in International Trade Regulation from New York University. While at NYU, Bryan was a graduate editor on the Journal of International Law and Politics and while at Notre Dame he served as note editor on the Journal of College and University Law.

Mr. Blades’ professional experience in the field of international trade and litigation includes having been an associate in the international trade group at one of the nation’s largest law firms, where his practice included export control compliance and antidumping proceedings. He has also worked at one of the world’s largest law firms’ São Paulo, Brazil office on corporate transactional matters. Bryan is proficient in Portuguese.

Mr. Blades has served as a law clerk to the Honorable Thomas J. Aquilino, Jr. at the Court of International Trade in New York, as well clerking for the American Arbitration Association’s International Centre for Dispute Resolution. His practice has included trade-related litigation in federal court and administrative proceedings before the International Trade Commission and numerous proceedings before customs. A member of the D.C. Bar, Mr. Blades is also a member of the Customs and International Trade Bar Association, the Customs Lawyers Association, the American Arbitration Association’s Young and International organization, the Delaware Bar Association and the Colorado Bar Association.

Mr. Blades is the author of The Exhausting Question of Local Remedies: Expropriation Under NAFTA Chapter 11, 8 Oregon Review of International Law 31 (2006) and Franchising in China: A Current Perspective, 14 Currents International Trade Law Journal 20 (2005). Mr. Blades is of counsel to The Mooney Law Firm LLC.
