32 Chinese Entities Among 250 Sanctioned By State and Treasury Departments

On January 15, 2025, the U.S. Department of State (“State”) and the U.S. Department of Treasury (“Treasury”) have jointly imposed sanctions on over 250 entities and individuals. 

The sanctions partially focus on Chinese entities which are engaged in activities to evade U.S. sanctions on Russia’s military industrial base. 32 Chinese persons/entities have been sanctioned:

The sanctions require that all property of the designated entities in the United States or in the possession of U.S. entities are blocked and must be reported to Treasury’s Office of Foreign Asset Control (“OFAC”). These sanctions also apply to entities owned more than 50% by designated entities. All U.S. entities are prohibited from engaging in transactions that involve blocked property without a license.
